Kevin Steele Wins Sunday Million Again, PokerStars Promo Surprise

Kevin Steele, a 36-year-old Englishman, made history by winning the Sunday Million tournament for the second time. His victory on November 6th, 2011, earned him $168,838.99, adding to his previous win of $128,793 in July. However, he had sold 25% of his action for 38 pounds, which turned into 30,000 pounds for the buyer.

Steele's average buy-in for tournaments is $34, with a remarkable return on investment (ROI) of 2557%. His achievement places him among a select few who have won the Sunday Million multiple times, including Juan Maseyras-Barros and Jesper 'KipsterDK' Huugard.

In other notable poker news, PokerStars' 70 billionth hand promotion saw players win $70,000 by folding all cards in 24 heads-up tables, maximizing their chances without violating the rules. Phil Galfond, known for his strategic play, did not attempt to win a $14,000 prize in a promotional hand, folding his cards pre-flop.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
