Kalshi Halts Player Injury Markets Following CFTC Intervention
Kalshi, a leading prediction market platform, has suspended its player injury markets following intervention from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The suspension was done at the request of the CFTC, which has not provided a formal reason for the removal of these markets.
The CFTC has previously suggested that such markets could incentivize insiders to place wagers, raising concerns about potential market manipulation. Kalshi had previously offered markets on high-profile athletes such as Luka Dončić, Anthony Edwards, Malik Nabers, and Carlos Alcaraz.
Despite the suspension, Kalshi continues to explore new options for sports traders, including 'combos' based on traditional sports betting parlays.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
