Jordi Martínez “Alekhine” finished 43rd in the WSOP Main Event, earning $191,656. He was the last Spanish player remaining in the tournament, which began with over two million chips.
During his run, Martínez had a strong start but faced a significant setback in the second level, which left him with an average stack. Despite his efforts, he couldn't recover and eventually went all-in preflop with A Q against A K.
Meanwhile, Barry Denson broke the Guinness World Record for the most hours playing poker consecutively, playing for 120 hours and 20 minutes. Denson, who prepared for five weeks, donated his winnings of 850 pounds to Help for Heroes, a foundation supporting wounded soldiers.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
