Poker Pro JNandez Wins Lawsuit Against UpswingPoker's Doug Polk

Poker pro JNandez and UpswingPoker's co-founder Doug Polk have been involved in a public feud over a lawsuit and allegations of theft. The dispute began when Doug Polk accused Matt Berkey of lying about his business to harm his poker room, employees, and Texas poker in general.

JNandez claimed that Doug Polk tried to sue him for a six-figure sum, which was eventually paid due to a court decision. JNandez stated that UpswingPoker sued him for breach of contract, copyright infringement, and intentional interference with contractual relations. JNandez received $17,000 for his claim, while UpswingPoker's claim was dismissed.

JNandez's counterclaim for breach of contract was satisfied with damages, and he was partially reimbursed for attorney's fees and court costs. In total, JNandez received $150,216 from UpswingPoker.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
