Jens Killonen: The Teen Who Became a Millionaire Overnight
Jens Killonen, a Finnish poker player, won over a million dollars at the EPT Copenhagen. His journey from a ordinary teenager to a millionaire is inspiring. Killonen started his poker career with freerolls and won $10 in one of them. He bought his first apartment, a penthouse in the center of Helsinki, with his poker winnings.
Killonen's family lived in a middle-class suburb, and his mother asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up, to which he replied he wanted to be a millionaire. His path from freerolls to the highest limits in online poker took only two years. Killonen met Dan Tolppanen through Ilari Sahamies, who was one of the best online poker players at the time.
Killonen's victory in the EPT Copenhagen attracted the attention of the entire Finland to poker. His brother flew to Copenhagen to support him in the final of EPT Copenhagen. Killonen's victory was so unexpected that he did not fully realize the amount of money he had won. His life changed drastically after his victory, including being surrounded by reporters in a limousine.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
