Jens Killonen: From Army to Poker Millionaire
Jens Killonen, a Finnish poker player, has had an impressive career in the poker world. He recently shared his journey and experiences in an interview. Killonen won 155,000 euros in Amsterdam over three days, showcasing his skills in live poker tournaments.
Killonen's poker career began after his service in the Finnish army, where he served for six months as a mortar man. Despite the rigorous schedule and early mornings, Killonen found time to grind poker games online, often staying up until the early hours of the morning.
One of Killonen's most significant achievements was winning over 1.2 million in Copenhagen and playing high-stakes poker online. He also played the One Drop tournament for $1 million in 2012, which added to his popularity in the poker community. Killonen prefers to play Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) over other poker games, citing the weaker compositions and the presence of many recreational players.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
