Jason Kun: From Humble Beginnings to Poker Millionaire

Jason Kun had an extraordinary 2016, culminating in a $1,000,000 win at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open. He also won two tournaments and made several final tables in high roller events at Aria, earning a total of $2,890,926 in prize money.

Kun's poker journey began in college after an injury ended his athletic career. He was a talented sprinter, with a personal best of over 21 seconds in the 200-meter dash and approximately 10.5-10.9 seconds in the 100-meter dash. His first significant offline tournament was a $3,200 event at Borgata, where he finished around the 60th place.

In addition to his poker successes, Kun has also played in high-stakes games. He recounted a game in Manila with a buy-in of around $5,000, featuring several legendary players. Kun also shared his experience meeting Tom Dwan, whom he encountered while grinding micro limits. Dwan, known for his aggressive playing style, has had a significant impact on the poker community.
