James Obst Retires from Poker to Pursue Tennis Dream

James Obst, a highly successful poker player, has announced his retirement from the game to pursue his dream of becoming a professional tennis player. Obst, known for his impressive performances in both limit and no-limit hold'em games, has had a remarkable career in poker. He won his first WSOP bracelet in 2017 and has made several final table appearances in high-stakes tournaments.

Obst's decision to retire comes after he faced significant health issues since the age of 16. Despite these challenges, he remains optimistic about achieving his tennis goals. He mentioned that he has received tremendous support from the poker community and plans to occasionally return to tournaments. Obst also expressed his gratitude to Dr. Anthony Beck, who helped him maintain his form during the last two WSOP events.

Andrey 'TylerRM' Streltsov, another poker player, shared his experience of taking a break from poker to pursue cryptocurrency. However, he faced challenges due to the market crisis and returned to poker in July 2018.
