Isildur1's High-Stakes Poker Journey: March 2013
Viktor Blom, known as Isildur1, faced issues with people not allowing him to gamble normally during his poker sessions. He played 6-max tables in 2-7 with triple draw $1,500/3,000, where Phil Galfond, patpat, Patrick Antonius, and Sebastian Sabich were already playing.
After a successful start, Isildur1 moved to PLO $200/400, where Ben Sulsky joined him. Isildur1 played against Hac 'trex313' Dang in PLO with a cap and against Scott Sever in 2-7. He then played PLO $250/500 without a cap, where Ben Sulsky tried to convince him to play lower stakes.
Isildur1 won $2,449,544 over 13,185 hands from March 1-5, despite starting with a bankroll of only $2,500. He won over $1,200,000 in a single day on March 10, playing 2-7, FLO8, and PLO. In one of his most impressive performances, Isildur1 won over $720,000 against Ben Tollerene in PLO $400/800 over 374 hands.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
