Isaac Haxton on partypoker, AI in Poker, and WSOP Plans
Isaac Haxton, one of the most successful poker players in history, both online and offline, has recently signed a partnership with partypoker. This move comes after he left PokerStars in early 2016 due to unpopular changes in their software.
Haxton prefers playing high-stakes tournaments and cash games, and he is not particularly focused on winning a WSOP bracelet. He believes that the future of poker will be significantly influenced by artificial intelligence (AI). Haxton thinks that AI will help players improve their skills, much like it has in games like chess and Go. He also plans to play the One Drop tournament at WSOP 2018, which has a $1 million buy-in.
When asked about the impact of AI on poker, Haxton stated that while AI has made significant progress in recent years, it is still not at the point where it can solve the game completely. He believes that the influence of AI will continue to grow, and it is important to ensure that humans are playing against humans. Haxton also mentioned that he will take a break from playing nightly cash games two days before the One Drop tournament to ensure he is well-rested for the event.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
