Ilya Gorodetsky and Lika Gerasimova Reflect on 2013: Poker Highs and Lows
Poker players Ilya Gorodetsky and Lika Gerasimova shared their reflections on the year 2013, offering insights into their poker journeys and personal lives. Ilya Gorodetsky rated 2013 as a year with a score between 3 and 4, describing it as a "dismal failure." He mentioned that he participated in about 30 live tournaments in 2013 but did not make it into the money in any of them.
Gorodetsky highlighted that 2013 was the year of high rollers, with an increasing number of tournaments with huge buy-ins and prizes. He also noted that his wife Nuta founded one of the largest Russian charitable foundations, which raised about 3 million dollars in 2013.
Lika Gerasimova, on the other hand, rated the end of 2013 as a 9 out of 10, attributing her success to the discovery of Pineapple Chinese poker. She mentioned that she played 8 sessions in the plus out of 11 in the last half a year, almost recovering her summer losses.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
