Hollywood Stars Play in Charity Poker Tournament
In early March, American celebrities participated in a charity online poker tournament. The event, held on the American poker room ACR, featured a lineup of Hollywood stars, athletes, poker players, and other celebrities. The tournament was supported by the organization Feeding America, which unites more than 200 food banks helping more than 46 million people.
Among the notable participants were Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Tobby Maguire, Adam Sandler, Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth, and Tom Brady. Each celebrity contributed a buy-in of $10,000, and the poker room added an additional $1 million, raising over $2 million for charity.
The event was organized in a fun and engaging manner, with celebrities as the targets for professional players, aiming for praise rather than monetary rewards.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
