Phil Ivey and Other High-Stakes Poker Players' September-October Performance

In mid-September, Phil Ivey faced significant challenges in online poker. After a series of losses in an 8-game session, he lost his remaining bankroll. Despite these setbacks, Ivey managed to win $1,217,227 in 13,083 hands in September, with most of his winnings coming from Omaha Hi-Lo.

Alexander Kostritsy primarily played 8-game and 2-7 Triple Draw poker in September. After a tough month, he was rarely seen at the tables. Ivey, on the other hand, had a successful second half of September, marking it as his most profitable period since the 'Black Friday' incident.

In October, Ivey played 4,555 hands, winning $303,074 in Omaha but losing in 2-7, PLO, and 8-game. Viktor Blom, known as Isildur1, won $818,062 in 2-7 Triple Draw poker in September. Isildur1 began playing 2-7 Triple Draw poker in November 2012 and has since won over $1 million.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
