High-Stakes Poker: March-April 2014 Cash Game Review
The high-stakes poker world saw some dramatic shifts in March and April 2014. Daniel Cates and Kagome Kagome together won nearly $1,000,000 in a 2-7 $2k/$4k game.
Jungleman12 had a stellar performance, winning $420,000 in a morning heads-up session against Alexander Kostritsin and $220,000 at 6-max tables against Isildur1, Kagome Kagome, Gus Hansen, samrostan, and OMGClayAiken. Kagome Kagome also won $337,000 at the same 6-max tables.
Phil Galfond and Viktor Blom each lost over $300,000. Alexander Kostritsin initially suspected German players of cheating, but PostflopAction later cleared them of any wrongdoing. Gus Hansen won $360,000 in a 2-7 game and later increased his winnings to $550,000. Viktor Blom won $350,000 in a 3-max game against OMGClayAiken and ragen70. Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
