High-Stakes PLO: Insights from Top Players

Martin "alexeimartov" Bradstreet has been a prominent figure in the high-stakes PLO poker scene, currently ranking as the 6th most profitable player on PokerStars this year. Bradstreet, known previously as MagicNinja on the 2+2 forums, changed his username to alexeimartov in 2010.

In a recent discussion on the 2+2 forums, Bradstreet shared his insights on several top players. He highlighted Ilari "Ilari FIN" Sahamies' aggressive play style, noting that despite his tendency to 'ludomania' in large pots, Sahamies is a very strong player. Bradstreet also mentioned Gavin "gavz101" Cochrane, stating that Cochrane's results have normalized and he is not considered one of the best players in the world.

Alexey "LuckyGump" Makarov's results have also normalized, with significant losses this year. Benny "toweliestar" Spindler won around $750k, and his skills are considered good but not exceptional. Jens "Jeans89" Killonen won $1.3M, reflecting his skill level. Andreas "Skjervøy" Torbergsen won a significant amount but played an enormous number of hands, indicating a high level of skill.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
