Gus Hansen's High-Stakes Adventures in Asia: Wins and Losses
Gus Hansen has not been updating his blog since February, preferring to communicate with journalists from the Danish site asmallpokerworld.com. He traveled to Macau in January and participated in a photoshoot for the magazine Bluff Europe, where he also took third place in a super high roller tournament in Australia.
During his trip to Macau, Hansen won HK$4,000,000 ($515,000 USD) in a significant poker hand against multiple opponents. However, he also faced notable losses, including a bluff against Tom Dwan that cost him HK$1,700,000. In another hand, Hansen missed out on both the main and side pots with 2x 3x against multiple opponents.
Hansen's day ended on a sour note when he lost another hand against Tom Dwan, finishing the day not in the plus. He skipped a session in Macau because the stakes were too high, leaving him to watch from the sidelines as the action continued without him.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
