Greg Mueller: Canadian Ex-Hockey Player Turned Poker Pro Heads to WSOP Final Table
Greg Mueller, a Canadian ex-hockey player who has won three WSOP bracelets, is the most experienced player left in the WSOP Main Event field. The WSOP Main Event Final Table is less than a week away.
Mueller has guaranteed to lose 20 pounds before the final table in August. He has pledged to have fun at the final table, saying, “10 out of 10. We’re gonna have a rail. All my boys from White Rock and Vancouver. Everybody is coming. Going to be a big party.”
Mueller feels that the experience of being at the final table is surreal. He said, “It feels unbelievable. I mean, it really does. Like, it’s surreal. I keep asking, am I dreaming here?”

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
