Greg Mueller: 'I Always Enjoyed Playing with Russians'

Greg Mueller, a former professional hockey player, has always had a fondness for playing with Russians. He shared his experiences and love for the game during a recent interview. Mueller won a bracelet in a HORSE tournament, showcasing his skills in the poker world. His hockey career spanned two seasons in Germany's top league, where he had the opportunity to play with Russian teammates.

Born in Switzerland, Mueller moved to Canada at the age of 2. He spent his youth in Canada before returning to Europe at 19 to pursue his hockey career. It was during this time that he also began playing poker, often with his teammates during long bus rides between games. This unique blend of sports and poker has shaped Mueller's approach to the game.

Mueller's experiences with Russian teammates were particularly memorable. He learned several Russian phrases from them, including some colorful expressions. He recalled, 'They drank a lot and cursed non-stop on the bench during games. I didn't understand the exact meaning of their words, but I knew they weren't complimentary.' This immersion in Russian culture has left a lasting impression on Mueller, who continues to enjoy the game and the camaraderie it brings.
