Global Poker Traffic Surges by 40% in 2020
The global traffic of poker rooms increased by 40% in 2020 compared to 2019. This surge was driven by the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced many countries to implement strict lockdown measures, keeping people at home and boosting online poker traffic.
GGpokerok, an Asian poker room, has almost a third of the total traffic. In the same period last year, this figure was 12%. PartyPoker also saw significant growth, attracting 23% more users this year. Additionally, they released a legal version of their gaming client, PartyPoker Sochi, aimed at the Russian-speaking audience.
The iPoker network, which includes Best Poker, Guts Poker, and Betsafe Poker, saw a 50% increase in traffic, surpassing 888poker for the first time in six years.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
