Global Poker Refunds Players After Cheating Scandal Involving GTO Wizard
Global Poker has started to pay out money to affected players in the latest cheating scandal to hit online poker. The scandal involves a player named “projectbaby97” who is accused of using GTO Wizard during play to win as much as $200,000.
GTO Wizard recently added a security feature called Fair Play Check which allows users to see if a particular hand was solved at the same time it was played. This feature has been instrumental in identifying potential cheating incidents. Global Poker stated that the battle against RTA tools has been ongoing for years, highlighting the persistent challenge of combating cheating in online poker.
In the case of “projectbaby97”, the investigation was completed on November 17, and he was subsequently banned from the site. Players who were affected by “projectbaby97” received refunds from Global Poker. However, there have been instances where the Fair Play Check tool has produced false positives, as seen with players like Chris Battenfield and UrNightmare who were exonerated of the same charge.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
