GG Plans to Crack Down on Mining in Online Poker

GG, a prominent online poker platform, is planning to tighten its stance against mining and Mass Data Analysis (MDA) using HUDs. Fedor Holz, now responsible for security at GG, announced a crackdown on these practices, stating that his main priority is to ensure a fair and secure online poker environment.

Andrew Lichtenberger, a well-known figure in the poker community, expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of GG's measures. He questioned how GG plans to address teams that have already acquired mining data and analyzed over/underbluffs. Lichtenberger also raised concerns about the enforceability of the ban, suggesting that GG might struggle to control the use of MDA.

Patrick Howard, another prominent voice, argued that GG's ban on mining would not protect players from past or future mining in other rooms. He highlighted the potential negative impact on the poker ecosystem, stating that the ban could reduce transparency in win rates and overall poker ecology. Howard also pointed out that GG's high rake structure might be a more pressing issue than mining.
