Gamstop Reports Over 500,000 Users Excluded from Gambling in 2025

Gamstop, a leading organization in combating problem gambling, has reported impressive results for 2025. With 562,000 active exclusions, the program has seen a significant increase, adding 117,756 new registrations this year alone.

In addition to its growth, Gamstop has strengthened its leadership team with key appointments. Jo Costello and David Spruce have joined as new non-executive directors, replacing Kevin Beerling and Mike Dixon. Costello, Head of Membership Services at Rape Crisis England & Wales, brings extensive experience in supporting vulnerable people. Spruce, with over 30 years of accounting experience, is also Treasurer and Trustee of Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Furthermore, Matt Burgiss has been appointed as Gamstop's first Head of External Affairs. Burgiss, who has worked at GamCare for the past eight years, has personal experience recovering from problem gambling and has been involved in the TalkBanStop collaboration to help others overcome their addictions.
