Full Tilt Poker Secures License on Isle of Man, Plans to Patent Rush and Zoom

Full Tilt Poker has received a license to operate on the Isle of Man, marking a significant step towards its relaunch on November 6. The license was issued by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission, which has been overseeing PokerStars since 2005. Steve Brennan, the executive director of the commission, expressed confidence in Full Tilt's commitment to protecting players' interests and adhering to strict regulatory requirements.

Rational Group, the company managing PokerStars, Full Tilt, and European Poker Tour, has announced plans to patent the Rush and Zoom poker formats. Paul Telford, the chief legal officer of Rational Group, stated that the company is exploring patent applications to ensure protection of their intellectual property in the 'fast poker' sector. This move comes after Rational Group acquired Full Tilt, which originally developed the Rush format. The group is now considering the potential profits from patenting this innovation.

In an unrelated story, a Las Vegas taxi driver, Adam Woldeamrim, returned $220,000 that was left in his cab. Woldeamrim, who works long hours to make ends meet, found a bag containing $221,510 on the back seat of his cab. He immediately reported the find to his supervisor, who confirmed the authenticity of the money. The passenger, a white man in his thirties, returned to claim the money and rewarded Woldeamrim with $2,000 for his honesty.
