Flutter Entertainment Secures Full Ownership of FanDuel with $1.755 Billion Deal

Flutter Entertainment, the world’s leading online sports betting and iGaming operator, has announced a significant deal to acquire the remaining 5% stake in FanDuel from Boyd Gaming Corporation. This acquisition secures Flutter’s full ownership of FanDuel, the premier asset in the US sports betting and iGaming market.

The agreement, which extends the strategic partnership between FanDuel and Boyd Gaming Corporation to 2038, includes Flutter paying approximately $1.755 billion to Boyd. This transaction is expected to complete in Q3 2025 and will be funded by additional debt financing.

FanDuel holds a dominant position in the US market with a 43% market share in sports betting and 27% in iGaming. The acquisition is part of Flutter’s strategy to leverage scale and drive more efficient market access costs, benefiting long-term adjusted EBITDA margin. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including the receipt of certain regulatory approvals.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
