Flutter Entertainment to Charge $0.50 Fee Per Bet in Illinois Starting September 2025
Flutter Entertainment, the world's leading online sports betting and iGaming operator, has announced a $0.50 transaction fee on each bet placed in Illinois starting September 1, 2025. This decision follows the introduction of a new betting transaction fee by the Illinois State legislature. The Illinois State legislature introduced a betting transaction fee for licensed operators on all sports wagers placed within the state from July 1, 2025.
FanDuel, Flutter’s US market-leading brand, has absorbed the cost of the 2024 increase in the betting tax rate in Illinois without impacting customers.
