Flutter Entertainment Acquires Sisal, Dominates Italian Gambling Market

Flutter Entertainment has acquired Sisal, Italy’s leading online gaming platform, for $2.2 billion. This acquisition makes Flutter the number one online gambling platform in Italy. Sisal's assets include the gaming totalizer Totip, the lottery operator SuperEnalotto, and the sportsbook Totalcalcio.

Flutter Entertainment's CEO, Peter Jackson, commented on the acquisition, stating that Sisal's online presence has grown significantly in recent years. He expressed excitement about how Flutter can complement Sisal's capabilities through its scale, differentiated products, and operational capabilities.

Sisal's CEO, Francesco Durante, attributed the company's growth to its commitment to digital innovation, international expansion, and safer gambling. This strategic move by Flutter Entertainment is set to close in the first quarter of 2022, marking a significant year of business expansions for the company.

At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
