FanDuel Poker: Merger with PokerStars Imminent?
FanDuel and PokerStars, both owned by Flutter Entertainment, are rumored to be merging their online poker and sportsbook platforms. FanDuel has no online poker, while PokerStars has no online sportsbook. This merger could streamline operations and create a more competitive platform.
There have been several indications that this merger is imminent. New subdomains on FanDuel.com suggest testing of a poker client in New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania under combined PokerStars-FanDuel branding. Additionally, new job posts for poker roles at FanDuel have been spotted, and a long-time product manager at PokerStars has moved to FanDuel, likely into a poker role.
This merger could benefit US online poker players in several ways. It would likely combine the Pennsylvania site with Michigan and New Jersey, creating a three-state network. It could also mean a renewed focus on the US online poker division, with potential expansions into new markets like West Virginia and Maine. FanDuel is already licensed in West Virginia and offers online casino games there. Maine recently passed online casino and poker regulation, presenting another potential market for FanDuel Poker.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
