Eugene Tambovtsev Wins EAPT Altai Main Event, Splits Prize with Finalists
The Main Event of the EAPT Altai tournament, held at the Altai Palace casino, had a buy-in of 550$ and a prize pool of 125,160$. The tournament attracted 252 entries, expanding the prize zone to 31st place.
Eugene Tambovtsev was crowned the champion of the Main Event, winning 12,750$ after a deal. Dmitry Golyshev finished as the runner-up, earning 12,980$. The final table included eight other Russian players: Roman Kolotuk, Sergey Nekrasov, Evgeniy Milovanov, Rinat Ataxanov, Anton Fedotov, Artem Tyatov, and Boris Shkandibin.
Eugene Tambovtsev proposed to split the prize pool among the finalists due to personal circumstances. Tambovtsev's request to split the prize pool was initially met with resistance from Boris Shkandibin, who eventually agreed to the deal after exiting the tournament in ninth place. The finalists agreed to leave the Main Event trophy with Tambovtsev and split the remaining prize money among themselves.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
