Espen Yorstad Shares Insights on Poker Strategy and Cryptocurrency Investments
Espen Yorstad, the winner of the WSOP Main Event, recently shared his insights on poker strategies and cryptocurrency investments in a podcast with Matt Berki and Henry Kilbain. Yorstad, known for his calm demeanor, practices yoga nidra, a technique that involves focusing on different parts of the body without falling asleep, which he credits with helping him stay composed during long poker sessions.
One of the most notable moments from Yorstad's WSOP Main Event victory was a significant bluff against Michael Dwek. Yorstad recalled a hand where he had J7o and decided to bluff against Dwek, who had two pairs. Yorstad's bluff was successful, and he managed to win the hand without much resistance from his opponent.
In addition to his poker strategies, Yorstad also discussed his experiences with cryptocurrency investments. He started investing in cryptocurrency in 2017 but became serious about it in 2020. Yorstad invested $50k in LUNA at $6, and his portfolio peaked at around $1.1 million. However, he faced significant losses when the value of LUNA and other cryptocurrencies plummeted. Yorstad's experience highlights the volatility and risks associated with cryptocurrency investments.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
