Erik Seidel: Poker, Charity, and the Journey of a Gaming Legend

Erik Seidel, one of the most successful poker players in history, recently shared insights into his life, career, and views on the game. Seidel often wears headphones during poker games to block out noise or listen to music, a habit he developed due to the noise at the tables.

Seidel's journey to becoming a poker legend was not straightforward. He had dyslexia as a child and struggled with school, which affected his self-confidence. Despite these challenges, he found his passion in gaming, starting with backgammon before transitioning to poker. His success in backgammon was partly due to being in the right place at the right time, especially in New York during the backgammon renaissance.

Seidel also believes in the importance of charity and that poker players are conscious about giving back to society. He mentioned that many young players, who have become successful and earned significant amounts of money, feel the need to share with the community. Dán Smith has led this movement, and many players support him, making a real difference in people's lives.
