EPT: Five Russians Led by Dikey Fight for the Main Prize
Five Russian poker players, including Max 'Decay' Lykov and Eugene Zaicev, are competing for the main prize at the European Poker Tour. The tournament has seen intense competition and strategic plays from the Russian players.
Eugene Zaicev (Swen) started the day with a stack of 52,000 and lost about 17,000 to Qx Qx with Jx Jx. After that, he struggled for about three hours before managing to triple his stack. He then moved to a new table with a stack of 140,000 but faced a tough table with chip leader Straussmann and lost his momentum, dropping to 126,000.
Max 'Decay' Lykov made a series of tough but correct decisions, taking chips from opponents who dared to challenge him. In one notable hand, Marcel Koller raised 6,000 from the first position, and Luis Medina and Nickolo Karamatti called. Lykov, on the button, made a re-raise of 28,800. Koller and Medina folded, but Karamatti seemed ready to stay in the game. He told Lykov, 'I was much more worried about him (pointing at Koller) than about you. I have a good hand. How many chips do you have?' Lykov responded that he had around 150,000, and Karamatti reluctantly folded.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
