Epic Poker League Files for Bankruptcy: What Happened?
Federated Sports+Gaming, the company behind the Epic Poker League and the Global Poker Index (GPI) ranking, has filed for bankruptcy. The company, which owns the Epic Poker League and the GPI ranking, has 118 creditors, including Pinnacle Entertainment and All In Production. The company had $15,000 in cash and a total debt of $5-7 million at the time of filing.
Daniel Negreanu, a prominent poker player, has commented on the situation. In his weekly rant, Negreanu expressed his views on the Epic Poker League's failure. He stated that the league was doomed from the start due to a lack of a viable business plan. Negreanu also mentioned that many good people worked for the league and are now without jobs.
Negreanu also highlighted the importance of the $1 million freeroll promised to tournament participants, which was a significant draw for many players. He also noted that the failure of the Epic Poker League to attract a large audience and stay afloat will make it harder for future poker shows to secure TV deals.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
