Dutch Poker Players Win Big with Tax Reforms, Russian Poker Room Closes
Dutch poker players are in for a pleasant surprise as they are set to receive millions of euros in tax reimbursements. The Dutch tax authorities have finally resolved a long-standing issue by ruling that PokerStars.eu is based in Malta, which means players will no longer have to pay over 30% tax on their winnings.
The Russian online cardroom bwin.ru has shut down, with player accounts being transferred to Parimatch.ru. The closure comes after years of underfunded marketing and low player numbers. Players switching to Parimatch.ru can expect a unique bonus offer, according to reports.
In the United States, partypoker US and WPT have collaborated to launch “For the Player,” a free learning tool for US poker players. The initiative offers live training sessions with top coaches and a series of newsletters and blog posts focusing on various aspects of poker strategy.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
