Douglas Polk Wins Over $200,000 in High-Stakes Poker Match Against Bill Perkins
Douglas Polk, a well-known American poker player and one of the best heads-up players in the world, recently won over $200,000 in a high-stakes poker match against Bill Perkins. The game, played with blinds of $200/$400, lasted for 1,650 hands.
Polk, who now resides in Austin, Texas, after moving from Las Vegas, shared his victory on Twitter. He mentioned that the match started at 2000 hands and continued until 4 AM. Perkins, on the other hand, admitted to making several key mistakes during the game. He noted two major errors and mentioned that he misused his charts, leading to a loss of three buy-ins.
This isn't the first time Polk has made headlines for his poker skills. He previously won over $1,200,000 from Daniel Negreanu in an epic online battle. Despite his success, Polk jokingly refers to his current status as a "pensioner" in the poker world.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
