Douglas Polk Reveals His Five Biggest Online Poker Hands
Douglas Polk, a renowned poker player, recently shared five of his largest online poker hands, each with a significant pot. The smallest of these hands was $382,827, which was the largest hand he played in 2014. Polk mentioned that while these hands were impressive, they did not reach the million-dollar mark like the high-stakes games of the past.
One of the most notable hands Polk discussed was against MalACEsia, a high roller who suddenly appeared in the online poker scene. This hand was worth $409,837 and involved a complex decision-making process. Polk recalled that he had a straight, but MalACEsia had a full house, making it a memorable and exciting moment.
Another significant hand Polk played was against Isildur1, where the pot reached $404,000. In this hand, Polk had the nuts but had to decide whether to call or fold when Isildur1 went all-in on the river. The river card was a nine of spades, leading to a split pot. Polk mentioned that he felt lucky to have escaped with half the pot in this intense situation.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
