Doral, Florida Bans Gambling to Block Trump Casino
The city council of Doral, Florida, voted to ban gambling citywide to prevent former U.S. President Donald Trump from opening a casino. The decision comes amidst political tensions and accusations.
Donald Trump's Trump National Doral Miami golf club is located in Doral, Florida, and is currently managed by his son, Eric Trump.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a deal with tribal casinos last year that legalized sports betting and expanded opportunities for new casinos. Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber accused Governor DeSantis of setting a 15-mile distance from tribal casinos to allow Trump to convert Trump National Doral Miami into a casino. The deal between Governor DeSantis and the Seminole tribe is expected to be approved at the federal level, potentially nullifying Doral City Council's decision.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
