December 2017 Poker Promotions and Payment System Updates

Poker rooms and payment systems are gearing up for the holiday season with a variety of promotions and updates. Here’s what you need to know:

Poker Room Promotions

PokerDom Network Boost Challenge will run from December 10 to 26, 2017, with a guaranteed prize pool of $20,000. Players at boost tables will earn points for each rake hand at dollar tables, which will be their starting stack in the Network Boost Challenge tournament on December 26. The higher the limits, the more points earned. To participate, players need to accumulate at least 1,000 points. The tournament starts at 20:00 MSK.

RedStar Poker is hosting a New Year lottery with a main prize of an Apple iPad Pro 12.9'' 256GB. Additional prizes include Apple iPad 9.7'' 32GB tablets, gaming money, tournament tickets, free spins, and reload bonuses. Players receive one lottery ticket per day for completing tasks such as making a deposit, playing 250 poker hands at cash tables, betting $100 in the casino, or tweeting a screenshot of a casino win with the mention @RedStar_Gaming.

RedStar Poker also offers free rolls every Wednesday and Saturday in December with guaranteed prizes of $25. Passwords can be found in the poker room’s Telegram chat an hour before the tournaments. Additionally, the Oh Oh Omaha promotion runs from December 4 to 17, with tasks on a festive tree leading to prizes and free roll tickets. The Oh Oh Omaha Freeroll with a prize pool of €2,500 will be held on December 18 at 22:00 MSK, followed by the €12,000 Christmas Freeroll on December 19 at 22:00 MSK.

Payment System Updates

ecoPayz has started operations in Crimea, allowing residents to create a personal ecoAccount and enjoy the benefits of an electronic wallet. The system is now available for all residents of Crimea.

Skrill has updated the design of user personal cabinets, although it is currently in beta version. Additionally, Skrill and NETELLER have suspended operations in several countries, including Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. Residents of these countries will need to contact support to withdraw funds. Skrill now accepts scans of passport registration pages from CIS users for address verification, along with a document confirming identity and a selfie with the document.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
