David Ortiz 'briviescano' Dominates ESCOOP Events with Impressive Performances

David Ortiz, known by his alias 'briviescano', has made a name for himself in the poker community with his impressive performances in the recent ESCOOP events. The 25-year-old from Burgos, Spain, studying Industrial Engineering in Valladolid, entered the prize money in five events, with notable achievements including a 4th place in event #3 and a 2nd place in the High Roller.

Ortiz's journey into poker began after discovering the game through Raúl Mestre's blog. He started playing poker after his extensive experience with chess, which allowed him to travel to championships across Spain. Ortiz is one of the first registered students at EducaPoker, having been a regular at the Poker-Red forum. He prefers tournaments over cash games, having started with the Shortstack strategy taught at EducaPoker.

In the ESCOOP events, Ortiz entered with good personal vibes and a solid bankroll, aiming to play all events. He entered the final table of event #3 after accumulating chips and leading the tournament, eventually finishing 4th. In the High Roller event, Ortiz became the chip leader during the bubble phase and maintained the lead until the end of the day. He finished 2nd in the High Roller after a heads-up battle where he was at a disadvantage. Ortiz has noticed a decrease in the average skill level of players on .es platforms post-regulation, with players being more unpredictable. He has also played live poker in Spain, participating in events like the CEP and CNP circuits.
