Daniel Negreanu Predicts In-Person WSOP for This Year
Daniel Negreanu, a well-known poker player with many connections in the poker world, has shared his insights on the upcoming World Series of Poker (WSOP). The WSOP usually takes place in Las Vegas during the summer. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was moved online last year.
Negreanu expects the WSOP to be held in person this year, likely in the fall. He predicts that the WSOP may include a full schedule with approximately 90 events. Negreanu also mentioned that the increase in vaccinations in the US gives him hope that the WSOP can be played normally without additional safety measures, such as plexiglass barriers, which may be impractical due to the event's large scale.
Caesars is offering a lottery on WSOP.com, with one winner receiving a seat in the 2021 Main Event, airfare, hotel accommodation, and other prizes. This lottery is seen as a strong indication that Caesars intends to hold the WSOP this year, as the number of poker tournaments is once again on the rise.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
