Daniel Negreanu Confirms Dan Bilzerian's $100M Poker Win

Daniel Negreanu, a renowned poker player, has publicly supported Dan Bilzerian's claim of winning $100 million playing poker. This endorsement has sparked a heated debate within the poker community, where Bilzerian's claims have long been met with skepticism and disbelief.

Bilzerian, known for his extravagant lifestyle and polarizing persona, has often asserted that he made his fortune through poker rather than relying on a trust fund. In an interview with Jordan Belfort, host of The Wolf of Wall Street podcast, Bilzerian stated, “The bulk of my career I leaned on the whole trust fund thing and had everyone thinking I was a trust fund idiot…and if people want to believe that I really don’t give a f**k.” He further claimed, “My thing was I made my money playing poker and my trust fund didn’t kick in until I was 35, and I didn’t even cash it until I was 39.”

Bilzerian's father, Paul Bilzerian, a jailed corporate raider-turned-stock market manipulator, has been cited as the financial backbone behind Dan Bilzerian's lavish lifestyle. However, Dan Bilzerian insists that billionaire businessman Alec Gores funded his activities, with losses between $40 and $50 million in private games. Some of these games had buy-ins as high as $10 million. Gores has privately disputed these claimed losses, leading Bilzerian to publicly challenge him to a $100 million heads-up match to settle their dispute.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
