From Poker Pros to Restaurant Tycoons: The Dang Brothers' Journey
The Dang brothers, Zi 'Urindanger' Dang and Hack 'trex313' Dang, were once among the most successful online poker players. Zi won $7,411,127 on FTP, while Hack also finished his poker career with a seven-figure profit. In 2012, the brothers, along with their brother OU, opened a seafood restaurant called Chasin Tails.
Recently, the brothers opened two new restaurants, Roll Play and Chasin Tails. They shared their journey from poker players to restaurant owners at the Association of Vietnamese Students at Virginia University. The brothers emphasized the importance of teamwork, calculated risk, and continuous learning.
The Dang brothers' entrepreneurial journey began in childhood. They started by finding lottery tickets in trash cans and selling them. Later, they moved into selling Pokemon cards, creating a system to maximize profits. Their first restaurant venture faced challenges with an ineffective manager, who was eventually fired, teaching them the importance of evaluating employees based on both skills and personal qualities.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
