Dan Bilzerian Exposes Alec Gores' $350M Poker Tax Bill and Crypto Shift
Dan Bilzerian, the social media influencer, has revealed that his upcoming grudge match opponent Alec Gores once received a $350 million tax bill for poker winnings. This revelation came during his appearance on the More Plates More Dates podcast, where he discussed the world of private high-stakes games and the shift to cryptocurrency.
Bilzerian explained that the high-stakes private games have moved to cryptocurrency to avoid the hassle of handling large amounts of cash. He mentioned that billionaire Andy Beal sent a $700 million wire transfer to Alec Gores to settle a poker debt, and the Californian state demanded a 50% chunk, highlighting the tax issues involved.
Dan Bilzerian has been receiving high-stakes payments in Bitcoin since 2013 and has even witnessed high-stakes games in Macau being settled with Bitcoin. The original currency of choice was Bellagio $5,000 chips, but the shift to cryptocurrency has made life easier for high rollers.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
