Columbus Blue Jackets Face Uncertain Future Amid Contract Negotiations
The Columbus Blue Jackets are facing a critical juncture as several key players remain unsigned, and the team's future is uncertain. Adam Fantilli, a 21-year-old restricted free agent, remains unsigned with the Columbus Blue Jackets despite the team having over $13 million in salary cap space. Fantilli is arguably their best young player, and his deal should have been done in June. Any commitment to Columbus would be a win at this point. Yet, sources indicated talks were ice cold heading into the weekend.
Kirill Marchenko has expressed a lack of commitment to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Zach Werenski, the reigning Norris Trophy winner, has not committed to re-signing with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Werenski’s internal stance has not changed: If the Blue Jackets forced an answer today on an extension, they would not like the non-committal reply.
Don Waddell, the general manager of the Columbus Blue Jackets, hired 71-year-old Rick Bowness on a one-year contract. John H. McConnell II is set to assume the presidency of the Columbus Blue Jackets as Mike Priest retires after 30 years of service.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
