ClubWPT Gold Launches Pot Limit Omaha, Prepares for Canadian Expansion

ClubWPT Gold has made significant strides this week with the addition of Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) games and preparations for its Canadian launch. On October 21, 2025, the platform introduced PLO, a game highly anticipated by players since the site's launch. The addition of PLO came after a temporary suspension of all ring game tables for maintenance. Doug Polk, a well-known ambassador for ClubWPT Gold, celebrated the occasion by streaming a session of PLO, providing viewers with an in-depth look at the new game and answering their questions.

The PLO rollout also introduced an anti-collusion feature where players' hole cards are only revealed to them once it's their turn to act. This feature has received mixed reactions, as it helps prevent collusion but also shortens the time players have to think about their hands. Unfortunately, the update was not without its issues. Players reported crashes, empty lobbies, and geolocation errors, which the developers are now working to resolve.

In addition to the PLO launch, ClubWPT Gold is set to expand into Canada, excluding Quebec, next week. This move will make ClubWPT Gold the only sweepstakes poker site to combine US and Canada player pools, following Global Poker's recent departure from the market. The expansion aims to grow and maintain player liquidity on the site and bypass anti-sweeps laws in several states, allowing ClubWPT Gold to stay active in California past January 1, 2026, and potentially return to markets like New York.
