Caesars Entertainment Approved for $17.6 Billion Sale to Tilman Fertitta
The board of directors of Caesars Entertainment has approved selling the company to Tilman Fertitta. The $17.6 billion deal will include $5.7 billion in cash and the assumption of about $12 billion in Caesars debt. The acquisition still must clear a couple of regulatory hurdles before the parties can finalize the deal.
The deal would give Fertitta an even bigger footprint in Sin City. Along with the Golden Nugget in downtown Las Vegas, Fertitta would own eight Caesars properties on the Strip, including Caesars Palace, Harrah’s, Planet Hollywood, Linq, The Cromwell, Paris, Harrah’s, and the Flamingo.
An SEC filing at the end of 2025 reported that Caesars has more than 50,000 employees. A 2023 company report showed a total of 19,750 in southern Nevada alone. The combined company would own four of nine casinos in Atlantic City. The Caesars acquisition would also significantly increase Fertitta’s footprint in the world of poker. Caesars operates WSOP Online in the U.S. Caesars’ sports betting app is available in numerous states.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
