British Poker Player Loses Job, Wins WSOP Ticket After Boxing Loss
Ryan Osman, a 26-year-old poker player from the UK, recently lost his job at an IT company where he had worked for nine years. After his dismissal, Osman participated in an amateur boxing match where he was badly beaten by his opponent. Osman then entered a 6-max tournament at a London casino, supported by GG Poker, where the main prize was a 15,000$ ticket to the WSOP 2021 Main Event.
Osman reached the heads-up stage but lost to the more experienced poker streamer Lucas Robinson. Upon learning of Osman's situation, Robinson decided to give his prize to Osman, stating that he was already planning to go to Vegas for the WSOP.
Osman was simply astonished by this generous gesture from Robinson, who added that he would still go to Vegas for the WSOP. The WSOP ticket, worth 15,000$, includes the buy-in for the Main Event of WSOP 2021.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
