Brazil Considers Monthly Betting Limit Tied to Minimum Wage
Senator Camilo Santana has proposed a draft bill to introduce a monthly betting limit in Brazil. The proposed limit is set at 5% of Brazil's minimum wage, approximately R$80 or $16. The bill aims to prevent indebtedness and excessive gambling by capping betting deposits.
Under the proposal, bettors can request to increase their limit by providing financial information to prove higher income. This allows those with incomes above the minimum wage to bet up to 5% of their proven monthly earnings.
The draft bill follows examples set by European countries like the Netherlands and Germany, which have successfully implemented similar legislation to protect gamblers.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
