Billionaire Consortium Led by Bezos and Saverin Eyes 30% Stake in Liverpool FC
A consortium of investors led by Amit Bhatia is negotiating to buy a 30% minority stake in Liverpool FC. The consortium includes Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, and Eduardo Saverin, co-founder of Facebook. The deal would value Liverpool FC at £4.4 billion, the highest valuation ever for a soccer club.
The exact price of the deal is estimated at £1.35 billion. Fenway Sports Group, the current owner of Liverpool FC, acquired the club in 2010. The consortium is looking to secure a minority stake in Liverpool FC, with Bezos looking to expand its holdings into the world of professional sports, after previously debating investing in National Football League (NFL) franchises.
Liverpool FC has struggled in its most recent Premier League season, finishing in 5th place despite spending £446 million on new players. The team ended four of its last five games in the 2025/26 season without a win, and trailing Arsenal by more than 20 points in the end.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
