Betway has made a significant move by entering the Alberta iGaming and sports betting market. This launch marks the latest Super Group brand to join the local regulated market, which officially began in July 2026. Betway has launched both its regulated sportsbook and online casino in Alberta, Canada, the second province to switch to a private-license model in the country.
Betway Canada has been cleared and added to the province’s list of operating sports betting and online casino sites, along with Golden Tiger Casino. With this expansion, Alberta’s regulated sports betting and online casino market has reached 30 licensed entities. Betway is joining a competitive market that includes experienced North American operators such as FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, and Caesars. Additionally, Bet365 and Stake are also expected to secure licenses and launch their operations soon.
Betway is not the only brand owned by Super Group that has registered to operate in the local market. Other brands under Super Group already available in Alberta include Jackpot City, Royal Vegas, Ruby Fortune, and Spin. This move comes more than a year after Super Group announced its exit from the United States market.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
