Betsson Group Re-enters Canadian iGaming Market with Rhino Entertainment Acquisition

Betsson Group has finalized the acquisition of Rhino Entertainment, marking its return to the Canadian iGaming market. The deal, valued at $74.3 million, allows Betsson Group to re-enter both Ontario and Alberta, two key provinces in Canada's online casino landscape.

Rhino Entertainment, now a fully-owned asset of Betsson Group, brings with it a suite of B2B technology, front-end, and middleware solutions. This acquisition strengthens Betsson Group's presence in the region and enhances its competitive edge in the high-impact and lucrative iGaming market.

With this acquisition, Betsson Group's iGaming brands, including Casino Days, Big Boost, and Lucky Spins, are once again operational in Canada. The company had previously withdrawn from Ontario in 2026 but is now poised to capitalize on the growing online casino activity in the region.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
